Adults – RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an educational program which prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Penance, Holy Communion, and Confirmation. Deacon John leads the class, which begins in late September and meets weekly on Sundays, 9:00-9:50 a.m. in Fr. O’Hara Hall (except on holiday weekends). The program culminates at the Easter Vigil Mass, during which sacraments are received.

At St. Kevin’s, we use the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church as our RCIA text, and over the course of about two dozen sessions we explore the four pillars of the Catechism: the Apostles Creed, the Ten Commandments, the Seven Sacraments, and the Lord’s Prayer. A brief introduction to Bible Study is included.

Any adult seeking the sacraments should call the parish office to register for RCIA. Deacon John is available to discuss special arrangements for those people whose work does not allow them to attend RCIA classes at the regular time.
